General
Seed is a peer-to-peer incubator platform that connects startup founders with skilled contributors. Instead of traditional payment, contributors receive equity shares in the projects they help build.
Project owners create deliverables (tasks) with attached share rewards. When contributors complete deliverables and get approved, they receive shares representing their ownership percentage in the project.
Yes, Seed is free to join and use. We retain a 2.5% equity stake in all projects created on the platform, which helps us maintain and improve the service.
For Founders
Click "Create Project" from the navigation menu. Fill in your project details including name, description, category, and the total shares you want to allocate. Once created, you can add deliverables to attract contributors.
Most projects use 1,000 or 10,000 total shares for simplicity. Remember that Seed takes 2.5% automatically. You'll typically reserve some shares for yourself as founder and distribute the rest to contributors through deliverables.
Yes, project owners can manage team membership. However, shares that have been earned through completed deliverables cannot be revoked.
For Contributors
Browse projects on the homepage, find one that interests you, and click "Request to Join". The project owner will review your request and either approve or decline it.
Once you're a project member, you can claim open deliverables. Complete the work, submit it for review, and once the project owner approves, the shares are automatically transferred to you.
Seed tracks equity agreements, but legal enforcement depends on formal agreements between you and the project owner. We recommend formalizing significant equity stakes through proper legal documentation.
